Calling out all you SQL Server pro’s, guru’s and masters. So you think you know your SQL Server stuff pretty darn good then huh?
You’ve got some serious, in the trenches, experience under your belt and are certainly not afraid to use it.
No doubt you’ve been in quite a few tight spots before. You could keep your cool in a pressure cooker. You’ve used your wits and SQL Kung-Fu on countless occasions to see you through the tough times.
You’re a true pro, a SQL Server Guru, maybe even the best. Maybe the best there is, was and ever will be or at least that’s what your mommy told you…… but are you The One? Have you really got what it takes? We’re about to find out.
The SQL Server Super League
Rather than dish out the normal run of the mill SQL Server quizzes or challenges, I’m planning to give you guys something that will really tax that grey matter. Easy is boring after all right!
There will be practical challenges involved, you are not just going to know the answer off the bat and you will need to put in some graft in order to get to a solution.
I don’t want to give too much away just yet but each challenge will build on the last and get progressively trickier in order to weed out any pretenders. After all, “There Can Be Only One”, wait…. wrong movie but you get the gist of it right.
Each challenge will be scored separately, in a typical league like fashion, so if you slip up one week you are still in with a chance to make up ground in the next.
That Sounds Great But What Do I Get When I Win?
You mean what else apart from good old fashioned peer learning and the pure satisfaction of taking part in a SQL Server community event with your chums.
Well aside from the all important supreme all time bragging rights and the affirmation of what deep down you already know, that “you’re the best”, who knows, I may even get a SQL Server Super League trophy made up.
How can I get involved?
If you think you are up to the challenge then you need to qualify first. That’s right, you heard me, in order to take part you need to prove your worth. This should be no problem at all for all you seasoned pros out there.
Below is a list of SQL Server based anagrams. All you have to do is to rearrange the letters to form a well known SQL Server related term.
You need to get at least four correct answers in order to qualify. Any additional correct answers will equal one point in the SQL Server Super League.
Once you’ve cracked it, send me your answers via email to jrsansom@gmail.com (please do not post your answers below).
Good Luck and let the games begin!
